Make Things Happen (originally called Bleaker Street) is from tape #126 recorded in the basement on Davenport on Halloween, 1999, which was a Sunday. Vava Kolinski played guitar and sang a harmony on the bridge, as did Brennan Gault, who also played bass. The three of us were the Starks. It was written on Saturday, August 8th, 1998 after a trip to NYC in which I spent my net earnings from my first planting season in a total of five days staying at an airless hostel in Chelsea during a heat wave.
lyrics
Make things happen
Gotta make things happen
Money is burning up
World is turning around
Running on empty
Feels like I'm running on empty
Gotta make things happen
Before you run out of luck
Before you run out of time
My heart is stolen
I think my heart is stolen
But who it is I don't know
No I don't know who it is
Water towers
I see old water towers
Gotta make things happen
Gotta make things happen
