Silver Moon

May the silver moon
Watch over you
As you drift into your midnight reverie
Let the pains of the day
Fade away
And the silver moon light up your dreams
May the golden sea
Be your company
As you sail away into the twilight sky
I'll be there for you
As your dreams come true
And the silver moon shines deep in your eyes
I have never heard a song
As beautiful as your melody
Maybe it won't be too long
'Til you can sing it again to me
May the starry night
Be your guiding light
As you find your way home through the clover fields
May you always feel
That your love is real
When the silver moon shines deep in your eyes
When the silver moon shines deep in your eyes

A Christmas Drink
02:07
|
|||
Snowflakes falling on the doorstep
While the barszcz is bubbling in the pot
Steam fogs up the kitchen window
The perogies are boiled when they float to the top
The tree and cat are draped in tinsel
Family's at the door, please let them in, so
Wigilia can begin
And I fix myself a Christmas drink
We break the Catholic wafer that we offer to each other
And we try to think of something nice to say
Then out comes the vodka in a block of ice
With roll mops rolled up on a tray
Now a proper Polish vodka should be just, I quote,
"Like an angel pissing down your throat"
Na zdrowie! Clink, clink,
Clink, clink, clink, clink, drink
No more hesitance, time to open presents
At present it's pleasant in the residence
"From me to you, I hope this will do"
Is what each present represents
Hark that Herald, angels sing
And then it's back to Christmas quarrelling
"Can we all calm down?
Yes, I'll have another Christmas drink"
It tends to be a source of grief, so it comes as a relief
When everybody helps to tidy up the mess
Then we're checking our phones, that's the sign that it's time
To go home and decompress
Mother, father, sister and brother
Say thank you and goodnight and we congratulate each other
That we made it through the year
We're almost in the clear
Now it's time to disappear after one last Christmas drink
